Canada apologises for the Komagata Maru
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau makes a formal apology in the House of Commons for the Canadian government's role in the Komagata Maru incident of 1914.
The province of British Columbia had apologised in May 2008, and Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke at a fair in Surrey that August.
Many Sikhs were unhappy with that setting and wanted an apology in the House of Commons, as other communities had received. Trudeau's statement was made in the House.[Src][EoS]
