Bhai Mardana's rebeck

also Rabab of Bhai Mardana

A rabab shown at Patna as the instrument of Bhai Mardana, companion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.[EoS][EoS]

Held by
Gurdwara Pahila Bara Gai Ghat
Location
Patna, Bihar, India
Provenance
By tradition
Status: On display
The Encyclopaedia of Sikhism (1992-98) says it is displayed at this gurdwara, alongside Mata Gujri's grindstone. No newer first-hand report was found.

The Encyclopaedia names the relic without arguing for it. No study of the instrument's age or materials was found, and its link to Bhai Mardana rests on the gurdwara's tradition.
