- The Encyclopaedia of Sikhism (1992-98) places it by the Lahore Museum, moved there in 1870 and later shifted when the present building went up. This was not confirmed from a current source.
The Encyclopaedia says it was cast from metal vessels levied on Hindu and Sikh families of Lahore, and was used at Panipat in 1761. The Bhangi chief Hari Singh took it in 1762.
It then changed hands several times between Sikh and Chattha chiefs until Maharaja Ranjit Singh gained it on occupying Amritsar in 1802. He used it in campaigns including Multan.

The Zamzama gun at Lahore in the later 1800s. The Encyclopaedia of Sikhism calls it Bhangian di Top after the Bhangi Sikhs who took it in 1762.
