Battle of Chamkaur
With about forty Sikhs and his two elder sons, Guru Ji holds a mud fortress at Chamkaur against the pursuing army. Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh and three of the Panj Piare die. The surviving Sikhs order Guru Ji to escape by night.
